Leicester City are to “push” for Youri Tielemans to sign a new contract to fend off interest from rival clubs, according to reports.
The midfielder came through the ranks with Belgian side Anderlecht. He made over 180 appearances for them in just four years and he got 35 goals and 31 assists in that time.
This earned him a €25m move to French side Monaco ahead of the 2017/18 campaign. He played 65 times for them in his year-and-a-half at the club.

His move to Monaco did not go to plan though as France Football named in their list of the league’s biggest flops after he signed.
The French club allowed him to join Leicester City on loan in January 2019. He immediately hit the ground running for the Foxes, as he got three goals and five assists from just 13 Premier League outings.
Man United were believed to be interested in him that summer, but Leicester managed to sign him permanently in a deal worth around £40m.
Tielemans has been one of Leicester’s most consistent players since his move to England. He has 14 goals and 16 assists from his 99 appearances for the club.
To ward off interest from rivals, Fabrizio Romano has reported that they “will push in the coming weeks to extend Youri Tielemans’ contract”.
