Cinemas across the United States are reopening and, judging by the numbers who turned out for Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” there is an appetite there.
The main hesitancy right now though comes from casual audiences and so the nation’s largest exhibitor AMC Theatres is trying a new $25 million dollar ad campaign to get people back to the cinema.
Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, somewhat overdressed for an AMC venue and slipping from her regular Australian accent into an American accent (bring on those hard R’s) in the last thirteen seconds, leads the charge in the new 60-second spot which reportedly marks the first time AMC Theatres has produced its own marketing content.
