I’m A Celebrity 2020 contestants ‘will be forced to quarantine for two weeks before series start’

I’m A Celebrity 2020 castmates may have to face their first trial before the cameras even start rolling this year – and face two weeks in quarantine to stay safe against coronavirus.

Hey, we’ve already done four months as a country… what’s another two weeks?!

It’s been reported that in order to accomplish safe social distancing and to ensure everyone is Covid-free before entering this year’s camp, everyone involved will go into lockdown.

‘They understand that for some people, the thought of maybe having to spend more than a month away from their families might be off-putting,’ a source told The Sun.

‘But in the grand scheme of things, having this two-week plan in place is one simple way of being able to ensure the health of those taking part — and the people working on the show.’

If they’re willing to lock everyone up at the five-star Hotel Versace… we’re sure they’ll be able to find one or two people willing to take on the task.

How this series will go ahead is currently unknown, with rumours that new protocols being put in place could put a massive dent in the show’s biggest selling points.

Among them was the suggestion that they will move to Scotland, rather than the luscious Australian Gold Coast, where they’ll be dealing with the elements in an entirely different way to previous years.

It was also thought that families will not be able to join the stars at the luxury resort that’s usually on hand during the show’s run.

But the line-up looks set to be one of the best yet – with Vernon Kay the latest name attached with a reported £250k pay packet.

Jessie J is also one of the prominent names connected to the series, as is footballer Paul Merson.

But the biggest jewel in the crown is one of 2020’s biggest names: Tiger King nemesis Carole Baskin, who is reportedly in the middle of a bidding war between I’m A Celeb and US series Dancing With The Stars.

I’m A Celebrity is scheduled to return later this year on ITV.
