343 Industries has announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available to play for free until October 17 at 11:59 PM PT (2:59 AM ET on October 18). The offer is available on Xbox or Steam.
During this period, the entire collection is also discounted 50% both as a bundle or individually. The titles include Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. Halo: The Master Chief Collection has all of the latest seasonal updates from 343 Industries.
Season 8 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection is currently underway with new features such as custom game browser support, as well as some new weapon and vehicle skins for Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3. The latter also has new golden collectible Moas hidden throughout its campaign missions and a new map called Icebox. New Mythic Armors inspired by mythology and high fantasy were added to Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also available via Xbox Game Pass. The latest entry in the franchise, Halo Infinite, will launch on December 8 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. However, the game will not have a co-op campaign or Forge at launch.
