Hot on the heels of its world premiere at SXSW, the Paramount+ service has premiered a new trailer for the upcoming TV series adaptation of Xbox’s signature gaming franchise “Halo”.
The series follows a 26th-century showdown between humanity and an intergalactic threat known as the Covenant. In an effort to win the war, Dr. Halsey (Natascha McElhone) creates genetically enhanced super-soldiers called “Spartans” to combat the aliens led by Master Chief Spartan John-117 (Pablo Schreiber).
The new trailer shows off various bits of action and the epic scale of the series from showrunners Kyle Killen and Steven Kane. The first reviews are out from SXSW though are decidedly mixed with the series clocking up a 57% on Rotten Tomatoes with over a dozen reviews counted. That number will change though as more weigh in.
Jen Taylor, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, Kerin Ha, Bokeem Woodbine, Yerin Ha, and Danny Sapani co-star in the series executive produced by Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, and Steven Spielberg.
“Halo” premieres exclusively on Paramount+ from March 24th.
