British born actor Peter Gadiot (“Yellowjackets,” “Queen of the South”) has joined the cast of Tomorrow Studios and Netflix’s live-action “One Piece” series based on the iconic anime and manga.
Debuting in 1997, the manga follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat crew on their globe-trotting quest to find the legendary treasure of the former King of the Pirates – Gol D. Roger.
Gadiot will play Shanks, the legendary captain of the red-haired pirate crew. He joins the previously announced cast including Inaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, Taz Skylar, Jeff Ward, Vincent Regan, Morgan Davies, Ilia Isorelys Paulino, Aidan Scott and McKinley Belcher III.
Matt Owens and Steven Maeda serve as co-showrunners and executive producers on the live-action adaptation of a prolific franchise that already includes over 1,000 episodes of anime and over 1,000 chapters of the manga.
