Netflix’s marketing for their live-action series adaptation of Shinichiro Watanabe’s 1990s anime classic “Cowboy Bebop” has been nothing if not eclectic.
We’ve had a quirky video about score news, a glimpse of the opening credits, and a highly stylized and hyper-edited clip sequence. Yet one thing we still haven’t seen just weeks out from airing is a proper trailer.
That changed today with a regular old trailer arriving and finally showing off the FX, scale, and style of the series.
Set to launch November 19th, the ten-episode space western series stars John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, Alex Hassell as Vicious and Elena Satine as Julia.
The original 1998 series ran for 26 episodes and followed a crew of intergalactic loners who team up to become bounty hunters on board the ship Bebop.
“Alias” and “Fringe” duo Andre Nemec and Jeff Pinkner are behind this version written by Christopher Yost (“Thor: Ragnarok,” “The Mandalorian”) while original composer Yoko Kanno is returning to do the music.
