Five Join “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”

Paramount+ has filled out the cast of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” the new series exploring the adventures of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and his five-year mission onboard the U.S.S. Enterprise prior to Captain James T. Kirk’s tenure.

Mount, Rebecca Romijn, and Ethan Peck reprise the roles of Pike, Number One and Spock respectively which they played throughout the second season of “Star Trek: Discovery”.

Joining them as series regulars are Nigerian-American actor and TV veteran Babs Olusanmokun (“Black Mirror,” “The Widow”), British actress Christina Chong (“Tom And Jerry,” “Halo: Nightfall”), Australian actress/model Jess Bush (“Playing for Keeps,” “Les Norton”), Colombian-American actor/writer Melissa Navia (“Dietland,” “Billions”) and American actress/singer and Broadway alum Celia Rose Gooding.

Akiva Goldsman penned the series premiere from a story by Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet – all three executive produce. Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners, with Goldsman directing the premiere episode.
