Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for “Uncharted,” the film adaptation of PlayStation’s signature gaming franchise for much of the last few generations.
In the film, “Spider-Man” star Tom Holland plays a younger version of the treasure hunting Nathan Drake, while Mark Wahlberg co-stars as Nathan’s mentor Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan. Antonio Banderas, Tati Gabrielle and Sophia Ali co-star.
Attempts have been made to translate the games to the big screen since 2010 with multiple directors and writers coming and going including David O. Russell, Joe Carnahan, Dan Trachtenberg, Travis Knight, Shawn Levy and Seth Gordon.
Reuben Fletcher (“Venom,” “Zombieland”) ultimately directed the project which opens on February 18th 2022.
