Fans of First Aid Beauty’s cult favorite Ultra Repair Cream will be delighted to know that the product just got an antiaging upgrade. The brand’s new moisturizer, the Ultra Repair Firming Collagen Cream ($42), builds on the original product’s sensitive-skin-friendly formula with the addition of collagen, niacinamide, peptides, and more.
With a creamy texture and calming ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, the moisturizer is gentle enough to be used up to twice a day, the brand says. (Of course, be sure to follow it with SPF in the morning.)
The cream’s other star ingredients include collagen, peptides, and niacinamide—all of which experts generally recommend to reduce signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles. As you may already know, collagen is an important protein in skin that keeps it feeling firm. But our skin’s collagen production naturally slows down as we age, SELF explained previously. Although most topical collagen products aren’t likely to promote long-lasting changes in the skin, they can definitely provide surface-level moisture that feels nice and can really give your skin a healthy glow.
Plus, many collagen skin-care products (including this one from First Aid Beauty) come with science-backed supporting ingredients. For instance, the peptides present in this product are short chains of amino acids that support collagen and help prevent its natural breakdown. And niacinamide is a B vitamin that’s been shown to reduce age- and sun-related dark spots. This new moisturizer also boasts ceramides, which are a derm favorite ingredient for bolstering the skin’s moisture barrier and thereby keep it feeling plump and fresh.
First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Firming Collagen Cream is available now on the brand’s site and will be available at Ulta on February 14 and at Sephora on February 16.
