It’s A Sin fans have expressed their disappointment after the series didn’t receive a single nomination for the 2021 Emmys, with one person exclaiming that the drama was ‘robbed’.

In September, the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards are set to take place, with Bridgerton, Mare of Easttown, I May Destroy You and The Crown announced as some of the biggest contenders.

While TV viewers will undoubtedly be excited to see Olivia Colman and Emma Corrin go up against one another as a couple of the many nominees, several shows and actors were notably excluded from the list.

Russell T Davies’ It’s A Sin was critically-acclaimed upon its release earlier this year, depicting the joyous and devastating lives of a group of young gay men and their friends impacted by the Aids crisis in London in the 1980s.

While fans may have expected the series to be nominated in the Drama or Limited Series categories, it was left out completely.

As can be expected, numerous It’s A Sin fans voiced their anger over the massive snub.

‘I will need to fight the Emmys for snubbing It’s A Sin,’ one person tweeted.

‘It’s A Sin is getting no love from the emmy noms and I’m angry about it ngl,’ another stated.

Someone else angrily wrote: ‘Does It’s A Sin not count for the Emmys this year or smthn?? bc I am astounded that it’s got no nominations so I thought that must be why?’

Meanwhile, others said that in their opinion, Keeley Hawes, Olly Alexander and Lydia West should have received nods for their stellar performances.

Not It’s A Sin getting absolutely nothing 😭 I hate it here!!

HBO and HBO Max received the greatest number of total nominations for this year’s Emmys, boasting a whopping 130 and narrowly beating Netflix’s 129.

Disney Plus received 71 nominations, while NBC walked away with 46.

Netflix’s The Crown and Disney Plus’s The Mandalorian tied with the most nominations with 24 nods each, as father and daughter duo Ron Cephas Jones and Jasmine Cephas Jones made the announcement.
