Kim Fox-Hubbard (Tameka Empson) is determined to finally find out the truth about her missing husband in EastEnders and, for obvious reasons, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) wants her to stop digging, knowing if she gets too close to what really happened, her life could be in danger – and so could his freedom.
Phil managed to take down geriatric gangster Aidan Maguire in a final showdown, but not before the Irish charmer had Vincent sent to a potential death for double crossing him.
With Vincent ratting on Aidan, Phil warned him that Aidan knew and was planning revenge – and it was going to be more than a thumping with a walking stick.
Vincent decided to flee for his life, leaving a bereft and convinced Kim and their daughter Pearl behind.
But now it was Vincent’s turn to be betrayed as a gun was pointed right in his face in the escape car. Viewers never discovered his fate and nor did Kim but when she tracks down a man with Vincent’s wallet, she sets off on a hunt with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to find out who he is and how he is connected to her lost husband.
Phil is concerned when he finds out just how determined Kim is – and soon he issues her with a direct warning that there will be consequences. Is her life in danger and how much will Phil reveal?
Phil makes it clear that Kim needs to stop digging for information or there could be serious consequences. She later overhears Jack and Kim’s plan to meet Vince and find out more about him.
Alarmed, Denise pleads with Kim to leave the matter alone and Kim agrees – before swiftly going against her promise telling Jack it’s game on.
But she may live to regret this if she finds out that Vincent is dead. Or if she ends up in the heart of a villainous mob who may want to silence her.
We know that Kim is a hard woman to keep quiet – but this time she could be well out of her depth.
