Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) promised to expose Ruby Allen’s (Louisa Lytton) lies when she returned to the Square, and that’s exactly what she sets out to do in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
The legend, as viewers know, issued nightclub owner Ruby with a devastating ultimatum last month, ordering her to own up to what she did to Stacey (Lacey Turner), or she would tell Martin Fowler (James Bye) herself when she set foot back in Walford.
Ruby has been sick with worry in the wake of Jean’s departure, and she fails to come clean to her beau, prompting Jean to contemplate following through on her threat.
Martin, meanwhile, wants to visit Jean following Ruby’s decision to tell him that the legend has cancer. Ruby does her utmost to talk him out of it, but to no avail.
Jean, however, is desperate to get Martin out of the way, as she’s distracted with her marijuana in the garage, which has grown significantly during her vacation.
She’s not pleased that Ruby hasn’t told Martin the truth though, and therefore she makes it clear that she’s going to do it for her.
But Ruby soon has other things on her mind when she detects a funny smell at the Slater household.
Her suspicions are confirmed when Martin tells her that Lily (Lilia Turner) was caught selling weed at school.
By the end of the week, Jean makes it clear that she’s telling Martin about Ruby’s sick betrayal today, which forces Ruby to make a decision.
Just what is Ruby up to? And how far will she go to keep Jean quiet?
