EastEnders is set to return to screens soon, after three months off – however it has been claimed that there is trouble in store for Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
It was revealed that Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) will learn that Ian is to blame for son Denny’s (Bleu Landau) death, throwing their friendship into jeopardy.
And an insider has claimed that there is an ‘explosive twist’ coming for the businessman, which will lead to him being ‘off screen’ for some time.
According to a BBC source, there is a huge storyline on the way, with Adam’s ‘break’ as part of the plot.
‘Writers are staying tight-lipped about what happens, so it’s not known yet what the future will hold for the character,’ they said.
‘There are no guarantees and anything can happen in Albert Square.’
‘It will be strange for viewers not to have Ian on screen for such a long time,’ they added to the Daily Star. ‘But it will be nice for Adam to have some time out after working on the show for so long.’
Well, before Ian goes off screen, he’ll have a lot of drama to contend with – as Dotty is thought to come clean to Sharon about how Denny really died.
If you need a refresher, she found out that he was responsible for the youngster’s death, after locking him in a room below deck at the ill-fated boat party – before the ship started sinking.
While he rushed to save Denny, he was unable to free him in time and his best pal’s son tragically died.
Dotty had been blackmailing the chip shop owner, but decided that enough was enough, and is set to reveal the truth when the soap comes back on our screens.
But will she go through with it, and how will Sharon react?
We honestly can’t wait to find out.
Speaking about the return of EastEnders, Executive Producer Jon Sen revealed: ‘From the moment we turned the lights out in The Queen Vic our ambition was to come back with a bang and this autumn certainly does that.
‘As soon as Albert Square reawakens the drama returns at a pace and, although working within social distancing guidelines has certainly given us some new challenges, I am incredibly proud of what everyone has achieved.
‘The show is looking fantastic and we can’t wait for “series two” to begin…’
