Details of Netflix’s “Castlevania” spin-off series have been revealed as part of the streamer’s Geeked Week celebrations.
The main series, based on the classic Konami video game series, has come to an end with that show’s fourth and final season hitting the service last month. Netflix is now moving forward with a new anime series set in the same universe with an entirely new cast of characters.
This one will be set against the backdrop of the French Revolution in the late 18th century and focus on Richter Belmont and Maria Renard. Richter is the descendant of “Castlevania” characters Trevor and Sypha.
Clive Bradley serves as showrunner and executive producer on the project which hails from Project 51 Productions. Kevin Kolde also executive produces. Powerhouse Animation will return for the spinoff series, with Sam and Adam Deats returning as directors.
