“Dead Space” Remake Targets Early 2023

EA

An early 2023 release window has been set for the highly anticipated full-fledged remake of the first “Dead Space” video game from Electronic Arts.

The news came alongside a series of new developer videos released today offering a look at how the remake will update key elements of the original from making Isaac’s breathing and exertion noises more natural, more accurate audio occlusion, and richer sounds for the various weapons in use.

The remake retains the same basic plot as the original. Set in the 26th century, the story follows engineer Isaac Clarke on a repair vessel assigned to discover the fate of the USG Ishimura, a massive ‘planet-cracker’ mining ship that has gone silent.

The vessel’s crew is soon attacked by mutated humans and Issac is forced to fend for himself as he tries to save his surviving crewmates and learn the truth behind the loss of Ishimura which ties to an ancient alien artifact.

The “Dead Space” remake will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
