Wallis Day (“Krypton,” “The Royals”) has taken over the role of Kate Kane, the character played by Ruby Rose in the first season “Batwoman”.
On Sunday, The CW’s superhero drama revealed Kane was alive, but bandaged and unrecognizable due to injuries sustained in the plane crash at the beginning of season two. Going forward, Day will play this new version of Kane.
Kane however is no longer Batwoman as she was in the first season. Javicia Leslie’s Ryan Wilder character took on the mantle at the start of the second season and that’s set to continue.
Showrunner Caroline Dries has long been hinting about Kane’s return with the show indicating she was alive from fairly early on this season. The casting allows the series to have a resolution over the fate of Kane’s character.
