David Lynch has joined the cast of Steven Spielberg’s new drama “The Fabelmans” in a secret role. The semi-autobiographical project is already in post-production.
This marks the first collaboration between the celebrated directors who both emerged in the 1970s but have taken wildly different paths with both creating some of the most famous films of all time.
Lynch occasionally acts such as his role as FBI agent Gordon Cole across “Twin Peaks” to a supporting part in 2017’s “Lucky”.
“The Fablemans” draws from Spielberg’s time growing up in Arizona, but plot details are under wraps. Spielberg co-wrote the script with Tony Kushner.
Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano, Julia Butters and newcomer Gabriel LaBelle star while Universal Pictures will release the film around Thanksgiving.
