Cyberpunk 2077 is out now. The latest role-playing game from CD Projekt Red is massive in scope. Despite the studio’s claims that it’s actually shorter than The Witcher 3, it’s hardly a quick adventure. But how long does it take to beat Cyberpunk 2077? It’s an RPG, so your individual playstyle might affect the length of the game. Below we’ve rounded up some estimates on Cyberpunk 2077’s game length to give you a better idea of what to expect. Don’t forget to read our Cyberpunk 2077 review and check out some of our guides, including 13 tips to know before playing, how to make money in Night City, and how to choose the best life path for your character.

How long is Cyberpunk 2077?

If you are rushing through the main storyline in Cyberpunk 2077, you can expect it to last you about 30 hours. This number can increase to around 40 hours if you are doing side missions fairly regularly. Should you want to see everything the game has to offer, you are looking at a much, much higher figure. A developer on the game claimed to have played for more than 175 hours without seeing everything, but your miles may vary if you’re seeking to leave no stone unturned. That’s often the case with CD Projekt Red’s games, as there are a ton of choices and characters.

For comparison, the aggregate site How Long To Beat estimates that it will take you around 50 hours to beat The Witcher 3 if you are focused only on the main story, with dozens more hours if you are seeing everything in the game.

This lines up with CD Projekt Red’s previous claim that the game would be a little shorter than The Witcher 3. This was partially due to players’ feedback that The Witcher 3 was too long.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for Xbox One, PS4, Stadia, and PC, with backwards compatability across the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Full next-gen versions will arrive in 2021, and there is also a separate multiplayer component on the way. However, CD Projekt Red is treating it as a separate game rather than a mode that wasn’t ready for launch. It’s unclear exactly what this standalone game will offer.
