CW Renews “Superman,” “Flash,” “Walker”

The CW

The CW has handed out early renewals for seven of its nineteen scripted originals which will return for the 2022-23 broadcast cycle.

The returnees are: “All American” S5, “The Flash” S9, “Kung Fu” S3, “Nancy Drew” S4, “Riverdale” S7, “Superman & Lois” S3″ and “Walker” S3.

“All American” is the network’s most-watched series at present, while “Superman & Lois” is proving a top performer on HBO Max.

“The Flash” pickup was expected after Grant Gustin signed a single year deal for what could well indicate this will be the show’s final season (but not confirmed as yet).

The fate of several shows remains unclear for now including “All American: Homecoming,” “Batwoman,” “Charmed,” “Dynasty,” “In the Dark,” “Legacies,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” “Naomi,” “Roswell,” “Stargirl,” “The 4400” and the yet to premiere “Tom Swift”.

The renewals also come as the network is up for sale by owners Warner Media and Paramount with station group Nexstar considered the front-runner and a deal could come before the upfronts in May.
