It is now official – Tom Cruise is going into outer space in October next year.
Earlier this year it was revealed Cruise, his “Edge of Tomorrow” director Doug Liman, billionaire Elon Musk and NASA were teaming to film a new movie at least partly in outer space.
Now the official Twitter account for Space Shuttle Almanac, which covers all space-related stories, has confirmed that Cruise’s project has been greenlit by all involved parties.
As a result Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria, who holds two NASA spacewalk records, will pilot a Space X Crew Dragon Axiom Tourist Flight in October 2021 with Cruise and director Doug Liman onboard. The flight includes another party who has yet to be named.
The project remains untitled for now and there are no other details about who else is onboard and what the film is about. No release date has yet been set.
