Coronation Street spoilers: Tim discovers the shocking truth about evil Geoff Metcalfe

Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) has finally shown doubts over the innocence of his father Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) in Coronation Street – and he has found his dad’s martyr-like assurances that he is the victim become quite tiresome and overplayed.

And when new evidence comes to light against the abuser after Tim tells his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) about the CCTV cameras in Yasmeen’s (Shelley King) house, Tim is forced to face an uncomfortable truth – Sally and Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) have been right about Geoff all along.

Tim had been fiercely defending Geoff for weeks, determined for everyone to see that they have got the wrong idea about his father. But Geoff has been manipulating Tim and even tried to destroy his marriage to Sally in the process when it became clear that she was seeing through him.

Sally takes a big risk and lets herself into Yasmeen’s house, where she finds Geoff’s laptop and swipes it. But when Geoff enters the house before she can get out, she is left terrified by his reaction.

Having escaped from the house Sally shouts for help and a bemused Tim takes her home. She tells him that she has taken Geoff’s laptop and wants to try and view the CCTV footage. With Faye’s help they try to download the deleted camera app and CCTV footage.

Before long, Geoff is notified that fresh evidence has come to light and the police want to talk to him. But how much has Sally discovered?

Whatever it is, it’s enough to convince Tim that mum Elaine (Paula Wilcox) is in serious danger and he heads off in desperate search for her, only to return from Bolton with the grim news that it looks like she hasn’t been home in weeks.

Tim tells Alya (Sair Khan) how sorry he is for failing to see that she was right about Geoff all along but with everyone now on the same team, is Geoff’s reckoning about to come to pass?

Can Tim be the one to put the final nail in his abusive dad’s coffin? Or will Geoff find a new way to fight back?
