Coronation Street spoilers: Sad exit storyline revealed for Leanne Battersby

Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) has had the toughest year of her life in Coronation Street as she has been forced to say goodbye to her terminally ill young son Oliver in some of the most heartwrenching scenes in the soap’s 60 year history.

As she grieves for her beloved boy, she is now faced with the enormity of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) having a son Sam with Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) that he previously never knew about.

With too much agony for her on the cobbles, Leanne makes a huge decision about her future – but could it be Sam who stops a sudden exit for one of Corrie’s favourites?

Leanne packs the last of her things and tells Nick she’s going to stay with Eva in France, leaving him devastated.

Leanne assures Toyah (Georgia Taylor) she needs a fresh start in France, away from reminders of Oliver.   Natasha brings Sam to see Nick to apologise for gatecrashing Oliver’s memorial.

They are shocked to hear that Leanne’s left him and is moving away. Sam decides to try and intervene and sends a message from Nick’s phone.

Leanne is taken aback when she receives the message and even more stunned when Sam presents her with a list of things that might help her grow to like him.

Will this strike a chord with Leanne and make her consider her own personal future and the state of her relationship with Nick?

Or will well meaning Sam only seal the deal and drive Leanne away from Weatherfield for good?
