Coronation Street spoilers: Johnny Connor dies as he plunges into sinkhole to save Jenny?

Action man Johnny Connor (Ryan Hawley) is slapping a big red J to his chest and donning a cape as he plays Coronation Street’s hero – but will he die in the process as he dives down a sinkhole to save love of his life Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews)?

With a storm ravaging the Street and the ground literally opening up (great for anyone who has just done something embarrassing), Jenny went out in search of lover Leo but end up being eaten by the ground.

As Johnny was alerted to the fact that Jenny had fallen down the sinkhole, he was advised by Leo to wait for emergency services. Jenny will remember that, bud.

Having told Jenny that he was happy to be friends and his move abroad was nothing to do with her relationship with Leo, Johnny showed his true feelings as he prepared to risk his life for the landlady of his dreams.

Shona Ramsay (Julia Goulding) watched on with terror as Johnny refused to leave Jenny in a watery grave.

He clambered down the sinkhole but will he ever emerge or is he walking into his own grave?

Would save undertaker George a job we suppose.

Teasing the drama, Sally Ann told Metro.co.uk: ‘She’s terrified, injured and cold. She has this overwhelming sense that someone must come and rescue me. She knows that Leo is on the case so is confident initially that she will be found.

‘When Johnny arrives, she’s like what the bloody hell are you doing here. It forces them to discuss how they feel.

‘When you’re in a situation like that, you have to pull together. You have to help each other and keep each other’s spirits up. One will flag a bit, the other bolsters them up.

‘Within those conversations, maybe things are said and feelings are exposed. Poor old Leo, plenty more fish in the sinkhole.’

Let’s hope Jenny and Johnny arrive to make the most of their potential reunion.
