“Resident Evil” franchise producer Constantin Film has acquired the rights to Lee Goldberg’s thriller novel “The Walk” with plans to adapt it into a film. Goldberg penned the script himself.
Part-adventure, part-horror, part-comedy, the film follows a Los Angeles TV network executive who must make his way by foot from downtown LA to his home on the far edge of the San Fernando Valley after an earthquake tears through the state – leaving everything in post-apocalyptic conditions.
Wildfires rage, dams collapse, gas explosions consume neighborhoods, sinkholes swallow whole buildings, looters rampage in a place with no power, no water, no order.
Goldberg has familiarity with the subject matter – serving as showrunner on series such as “Diagnosis Murder” and “Martial Law”.
Robert Kulzer and Monella Kaplan are producing.
