“Concrete,” “Unholy,” “Yasuke” Set Dates

Screen Gems has set an April 2nd release date for the PG-13 rated supernatural horror feature “The Unholy” directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos and based on the James Herbert novel “Shrine”.

The story follows a young hearing-impaired girl inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick after a vision of the Virgin Mary. A disgraced journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) investigates and soon terrifying events begin to happen all around.

Katie Aselton, William Sadler, Cricket Brown, with Diogo Morgado and Cary Elwes also star while Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Spiliotopoulos produce.

Netflix has announced an April 2nd premiere date for the Idris Elba-led “Concrete Cowboy”. Inspired by a true story, the film follows a teenager (Caleb McLaughlin) who moves from Detroit to Philadelphia to live with his estranged father (Elba). There he discovers that his dad is part of a neighborhood community that cares for horses.

Finally, Netflix has also announced an April 29th premiere date for “Yasuke,” the new six-episode anime series starring LaKeith Stanfield (“Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Atlanta”) as the first African samurai in an alternate, fantastical Japan during a war-town feudal era filled with mechs and magic.
