Amazon has officially announced a March 5th premiere date for “Coming 2 America,” the Eddie Murphy-led comedy sequel it has acquired from Paramount Pictures.

Murphy returns in the iconic role of Prince Akeem who is now set to become king but discovers he has a son he never knew about, a street-savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring his father’s dying wish to groom his son as a newly crowned prince, Akeem must once again return to America.
Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, Shari Headley, John Amos and more return while they are joined by Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Jermaine Fowler, Bella Murphy, Rotimi, KiKi Layne, Nomzamo Mbatha and Teyana Taylor.
The movie marks the latest push by Amazon Studios into traditional movie tentpole territory. The service recently released “Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm” to great success.
