Dennis Quaid has signed on for Peacock’s “Joe Exotic” limited series in the role of reality show producer Rick Kirkman.
Exotic became a household name from Netflix’s hit documentary “Tiger King” and this series will be based on the Wondery podcast about the man. John Cameron Mitchell, Kate McKinnon, Nat Wolff, Brian Van Holt and Sam Keeley star. [Source: THR]
Andor
Robert Emms (“Chernobyl,” “His Dark Materials”) has joined the cast of Lucasfilm and Disney+ “Rogue One” action-adventure spin-off series “Andor” currently filming in the UK. He has an unspecified supporting role.
The series follows Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) prior to the film’s events in the early days of the rebellion against the Empire. Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, Fiona Shaw, and Kyle Soller also star. [Source: Deadline]
Days of Abandonment
Mary-Louise Parker has joined the cast of HBO Films’ adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s 2002 novel “The Days of Abandonment”. “Novitiate” helmer Maggie Betts will write, direct and executive produce the adaptation.
Natalie Portman plays a woman who abandoned her own dreams for a stable home life until she is abandoned by her husband and her world is thrown off its axis. Parker will play an unnamed mysterious and elusive woman whom Portman’s character encounters everywhere. [Source: Variety]
The White House Plumbers
Judy Greer has scored a key role opposite Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux in HBO’s Watergate-themed five-part limited series “The White House Plumbers”.
Greer will play Fran Liddy, the unflappable wife of G. Gordon Liddy (Theroux) and has misplaced faith in her husband’s intelligence and abilities. She joins a cast that also includes Lena Headey. [Source: TV Line]
