Amazon Studios, Davis Entertainment and Blackmaled Productions are partnering on “Brotherly,” a coming-of-age movie musical utilising the music of iconic R&B supergroup Boyz II Men.
The story follows a group of men who return to West Philadelphia for a twenty year high school reunion and eventually “find hope, redemption and a new understanding of the enduring power of friendship.”
Malcolm D. Lee is producing and is also in talks to direct the project which will be written by Marcus Gardley. John Davis and John Fox (“Jungle Cruise”) will also produce.
Boyz II Men were a staple of the 1990s music charts with singles like “End of the Road,” “I’ll Make Love To You,” “Motownphilly,” “One Sweet Day,” “On Bended Knee” and “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday”. The group won four Grammy Awards.
