Britney Spears will not be inviting her family members to her upcoming wedding to Sam Asghari, it has been claimed.
The Toxic singer, 40, announced her engagement to the personal trainer, 27, in September, five years after they first met.
Following the end of her controversial conservatorship, the mom-of-two has been vocal about the part her family had to play in the court order, calling them out on social media.
According to reports, she has now started planning for her big day with her partner and isn’t planning on having them on the guestlist.
‘Britney can’t wait to get married and truly start her life,’ an insider told Us Weekly.
‘They’ve already begun planning, and she is so happy she gets to finally make these decisions.
‘As of now, there will be none of her family who is invited to wedding.’
Britney was placed in a court-appointed conservatorship in 2008, with her dad Jamie Spears put in charge of her wellbeing and financial affairs, along with a bank.
She recently shared bombshell testimony about the conditions of the conservatorship, claiming that she was blocked from having a child by being forced to keep an IUD in her body, and that she was not allowed to be driven in a car by her fiancé.
The Baby One More Time star revealed that she wanted to ‘sue her family’ for being complicit in how she was treated during the past 13 years.
‘I also would like to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them,’ she told the court in June.
In a lengthy caption on Instagram in October, she later called them out for not helping her in her bid for freedom.
‘I suggest if you have a friend that’s been in a house that feels really small for four months … no car … no phone … no door for privacy and they have to work around 10 hours a day 7 days a week and give tons of blood weekly with never a day off…,’ she penned.
‘I strongly suggest you go pick up your friend and get them the hell outta there!!!!!’
‘If you’re like my family who says things like “sorry, you’re in a conservatorship” … probably thinking you’re different so they can f**k with you!!!!
‘Thankfully I found an amazing attorney Mathew Rosengart who has helped change my life!!!!’
During a hearing last month, Judge Brenda Penny ruled to terminate the order with some minor exceptions.
