Oscar winning “Roma,” “Gravity” and “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” director Alfonso Cuaron has set up his first Apple TV series with the thriller “Disclaimer”.
Ordered straight-to-series, Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline will star in the project with Cuaron set to write, direct and executive produce all episodes.
Based on the novel of the same name by Renee Knight, Blanchett plays respected TV documentary journalist Catherine Ravenscroft whose work has been built on revealing the concealed transgressions of long-respected institutions.
When a novel written by a widower (Kline) appears on her bedside table, she is horrified to realize she is a key character in a story that reveals her darkest secret.
Emmanuel Lubezki (“Gravity”) and Bruno Delbonnel (“Inside Llewyn Davis”) will serve as directors of photography on the series.
The project marks the first series to come from a pact Cuaron made with Apple back in late 2019. Blanchett, Gabriela Rodriguez, David Levine, Dawn Olmstead and Steve Golin also executive produce.
