Bill Skarsgard Exits Eggers’ “Northman”

“IT” actor Bill Skarsgard has dropped out of “The Lighthouse” and “The Witch” director Robert Eggers’ viking drama “The Northman”.

The younger Skarsgard was set to star alongside his older brother Alexander Skarsgard in the film set in Iceland at the turn of the 10th century and dubbed a revenge saga. That project is now filming with Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Dickie, Bjork and Willem Dafoe also starring.

Speaking with Collider, Bill Skarsgard revealed he was forced to drop out due to scheduling conflicts:

“Its been a scheduling nightmare during COVID. It is what it is. It’s a big shame. Eggers is one of the great filmmakers out there and working with my brother…I don’t want to talk about it, it’s going to make me burst into tears.”

Skarsgard will be seen later this month in Netflix’s “The Devil All the Time” alongside his own all star cast including Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Sebastian Stan.
