Reluctant hitman and aspiring actor Barry Block is being called back for an encore performance.
HBO announced Wednesday that it has renewed Barry for a third season. The dark comedy starring Bill Hader as the aforementioned Barry began its second season March 31.
Created by Hader and Alec Berg, the critically acclaimed series nabbed three Emmys last fall, including one for Hader in the lead actor category, and one for Henry Winkler, who plays acting coach Gene Cousineau, in the supporting actor category.
The cast also includes Sarah Goldberg as Barry’s girlfriend and fellow acting classmate, Stephen Root as Barry’s (former?) handler, and Anthony Carrigan as the affable Chechnyan mobster who needs Barry’s killer skills.
