Best Oscars Shoes of All Time on the Red Carpet

There’s no question that the Oscars are filled with fabulous fashion. While style-watchers everywhere pay a lot of attention to the gorgeous gowns and over-the-top bling, the shoes that walk the red carpet deserve a Stylish roundup of their own.

Because whether A-listers opt for sky-high stilettos, sensible pumps or strappy sandals, footwear can truly make or break an outfit. As such, we’re taking a trip down memory lane to look back at all the best shoes that have graced the Academy Awards.

Let’s start by rewinding to 2009, when Heidi Klum was one of many stars to match her heels to her dress. The Project Runway host wore satin red shoes made in the same fabric as her Roland Mouret gown.

Fast forward a few years, and one of the most iconic Oscar dresses of all time graced the carpet: Angelina Jolie’s Atelier Versace gown with the always-memorable thigh-high slit. While the gown went down in history, the Salvatore Ferragamo peep-toe pump on her foot was equally as important to the ensemble.

Skip ahead to 2015 to take a good look at Beyoncé’s gold Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels. Because let’s be honest, anything Queen B does is going on our list!

Emma Stone was also a Stylish fave that year, color coordinating her ankle-strap peep toes to her Elie Saab Haute couture gown.

More recently, Zazie Beetz landed on our list, rocking a custom pair of black sequined Thom Browne slingback pumps to go with her peplum style gown. That same year, Salma Hayek brought her A-game (and a lot of balance), walking down the carpet in a pair of wildly high metallic platform heels.

Standouts from the 93rd Annual Academy Awards were Ariana DeBose’s Stuart Weitzman sandals, which were in a gorgeous chrome hue that played off of her orange Versace gown. Peep that leg slit! 

Andra Day also showed up to the 2021 awards with strong shoe game, rocking a pair of simple yet stunning Casadei gold heels to match her Vera Wang dress.

From simple picks like Kerry Washington’s Christian Louboutin pumps at the 2014 awards show to show-stoppers like Marion Cotillard’s strappy sandals in 2015, A-listers proved can take their Oscar shoes in any direction!
