“Batman v Superman” Now In Color

A major remaster of Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will arrive on the HBO Max service on March 18th – the same day as his four-hour recut of “Justice League” hits the streamer.

This remaster, which is also coming to 4K disc several days later on March 23rd, is the three-hour extended cut of the film with around 30 minutes of extra footage.

More importantly, going by a just-released trailer – the remaster promises “enhanced color” and an “expanded aspect ratio” which seems to shift the film to be in the same aspect ratio that Snyder’s recut of ‘League’ will be.

Snyder explains that the previous UHD release had issues which this corrects:

“It’s meant to, especially for the special edition, it is to replace the one that was kind of messed up a little bit… The Blu-ray I think, it was okay, but just not the [4K]. I remember watching it on Apple movies or wherever it was, or somewhere, and going, ‘Wait, what? That’s not, that’s not correct.’ The reds were all blocked up, it was really weird.”

Meanwhile Snyder has also released a Superman-centric trailer for the “Justice League” new cut. Check it out below:
