Amazon Prime Day 2021 cancelled in Canada

Last year, Amazon delayed Prime Day in Canada from July to mid-October. This year, the annual sale event has been officially cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Amazon has confirmed.

In an email to MobileSyrup, an Amazon spokesperson said the following: “Due to the impact of COVID-19, we have decided to not move forward with Prime Day in Canada this year while we focus on the health and safety of our employees, customers and selling partners.”

Additionally, Amazon says it will “work closely” with sellers to minimize any potential losses, and that it looks forward to working with its partners throughout the winter holiday season, according to iPhone in Canada‘s report.

The statement indicates that any advertisers who invested in Prime Day will be allowed to cancel their contracts and that submitted deals from sellers will be cancelled.
