Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura (“Narcos”), Stephen McKinley Henderson (“Dune”) and Cailee Spaeny (“Mare of Easttown”) are all set to star in “Civil War,” the next feature film from acclaimed “Ex Machina” and “Annihilation” writer/director Alex Garland at A24.
“Civil War” takes place in the United States in the not-so-distant future, but plot specifics are under wraps. Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich, and Gregory Goodman will produce.
This will mark Garland’s fourth officially directed feature, the third is the horror film “Men” which A24 will release sometime in 2022 and stars Rory Kinnear and Jessie Buckley.
Garland also penned “Dredd,” “Never Let Me Go,” “Sunshine” and the two “28 Days Later” films along with the novel “The Beach”. He also created and helmed FX’s “Devs” series and co-wrote the video game “Enslaved: Odyssey to the West”.
