Alan Ritchson Is The New Jack Reacher

He was Aquaman on “Smallville,” Hawk on “Titans,” Thad in “Blue Mountain State,” the voice of Raphael in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and one of the murderous contestants in “The Hunger Games”.

Now it has been revealed that Alan Ritchson has been cast in the title role in the upcoming “Jack Reacher” TV series at Amazon Prime. The series is a whole new adaptation of the property and unconnected to the two Tom Cruise-led films.

The series is based on the Lee Child book series with the first season being based on the first novel in the series – “The Killing Floor”. The novel series has sold over 100 million copies to date.

Amazon Studios, Skydance Television and Paramount Television Studios are backing the project with “Scorpion” creator Nick Santora serving as writer and showrunner. Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Christopher McQuarrie, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross will executive produce.

The novel series has sold over 100 million copies to date, and was recently adapted into a pair of features with Tom Cruise playing the former U.S. Army Military Police Corps officer. The two films grossed nearly $400 million combined.
