There’s no denying that we all had visions of hitting the pub gardens this week dressed in adorable spring dresses.
But the British weather had other plans.
It looks like things are starting to heat up again from next week and, when temperatures pick up, there’s a new summer clothing collaboration that should be on your radar.
M&S and Ghost have just brought out a new dress collection that’s packed full of gorgeous pieces that will work perfectly for our epic summer plans.
Great for wearing to a picnic, BBQ or out to a restaurant, the stunning dresses come in a plethora of different designs – most of them are floral but there’s variety with ruffle details and puffed sleeves, plus mini, midi and maxi styles.
And they certainly make a change from the loungewear we’ve been sporting for the past 12 months.
Here are some of our favourites from the collection…
Frill detail midi tea dress, £89
Lilac is everywhere right now and this whimsical tea dress not only comes in the eye-catching shade, but also has beautiful ruffle details. The angel sleeves also give it a vintage feel.
Puff sleeve midi wrap dress, £69
The number is perfect for hot summer days, it’s floaty and airy with puff sleeves and the wrap design is great for creating movement – for keeping cool.
Floral puff sleeve, £59
This ditsy floral print dress would be a lovely wedding guest outfit. It’s made with comfort in mind with elasticated cuffs (which also give it some extra volume).
Polka dot tea dress, £69
Remember the polka dot Zara dress from 2019? Well, this is the 2021 update. It’s super-flattering and sophisticated with short angel sleeves and a v-neck design. It has a slightly more formal feel to it than some of the other floral numbers in the collection, so would be a good piece to invest in for future events.
Tie sleeve midi dress, £69
On a sticky summer day, all you want is a dress that floats over you, with minimal contact. This floral tea dress is perfect for that. The 3/4-length sleeves and midi design means this piece is both smart and practical – so would be a great option when offices reopen, too.
Floral puff sleeve midi dress, £69
Look up floral dress in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of this. Quite literally the epitome of the ultimate summer dress, this one has a lovely botanical print and voluminous short sleeves for added detail.
Shirred dress, £79
Shirred dresses are a huge trend for this year and this one is pretty and playful. It features a round neck and the bodice is both smocked and shirred to create a flattering silhouette.
Puff sleeve midi dress, £69
This floral print dress is a little less traditional, instead using black flowers on a vibrant green backdrop and comes in a flattering empire line style.
Button-through dress, £59
It’s not just midi dresses that star in the latest collection, this adorable floral pink mini dress is ideal for summer sunshine. Everything about it is detailed and delicate, from 3/4 sleeves with elasticated cuffs to the fabric-covered buttons.
V-neck puffed sleeve dress, £69
This blue and white design is very reminiscent of Ghost’s classic style – elegant and refined. It’s full of cute touches including the lovely floral print, the pretty short sleeves and flattering waistline.
Mini tea dress, £59
This coral mini dress is another brilliant one to have in your arsenal for summer. It’s also a very versatile piece, whether you decide to pair it with trainers or sandals.
Ruffle wrap dress, £89
If you love a ruffles, look no further than this striking orange and pink dress, which features a frilly neckline, elasticated cuffs and a floaty hem. The wrap style also makes it super flattering and really comfortable to wear.
