Update: Xur has departed for the week of December 3. Here’s where you can find Xur and what Exotics he’s offering for the weekend of December 10-14.
Next week, Bungie will break the Destiny 2 drought that’s run through the month of November with the release of its 30th Anniversary event DLC. With a new activity, a new dungeon, and a bunch of new gear–and Gjallarhorn!–there’s going to be plenty to do. That makes this a great opportunity to visit Xur one last time before the start of the event to gear up on new Exotics and Legendary weapons.
Now Playing: Destiny 2 Where’s Xur and What’s He Selling – Decemeber 3rd, 2021
Head to the Tower, to the Hangar area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering The Huckleberry. Hunters can pick up the Raiden Flux chest armor; for Titans, there’s the An Insurmountable Skullfort helmet; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Apotheosis Veil helmet.
Xur’s Exotic haul is middling this week, with decent rolls on An Insurmountable Skullfort and Apotheosis Veil, as well as a couple of Legendary weapons you might want to consider. Xur offers a decent Dire Promise hand cannon that can do work in the Crucible, sporting Snapshot Sights, Elemental Capacitor, and a Stability Masterwork. Sidearm fans (and anybody paying attention to the boost Sidearms are about to get in the weapon meta) will want to get Xur’s Engima’s Draw with Opening Shot and Rapid Hit, plus a Handling Masterwork. The Ikelos_SR_V1.2 sniper rifle is also pretty solid, coming with both No Distractions and Box Breathing and a Stability Masterwork. And finally, if you don’t have a good Last In, First Out shotgun, the one in Xur’s inventory will serve pretty well in PvE activities, like finishing off the final boss in the Deep Stone Crypt raid. It packs Auto-Loading Holster and Demolitionist and a Stability Masterwork.
In the armor department, Xur brings back some old Crucible armor sets from back in the Warmind expansion, making this a good get to fill out your transmog options. You can nab the Swordflight 4.1 for Hunters, Ankaa Seeker IV for Warlocks, and the Phoenix Strife Type 0 set for Titans. Xur’s options for each set are decent if you need to fill gaps for your characters–you’ll find a lot of 61 or 62 stat rolls for each character. The one standout is the boots Titans can snag, which come in at 64, higher than anything else Xur is selling this week.
Xur Location
Spawn in at the central Tower transmat zone in the Courtyard and head to your left to find Xur. Make your way into the Hangar area by taking the stairs down, and at the bottom, hang a left and go north. Find Xur up another flight of stairs at the north end of the area, standing on a catwalk.
Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday (although that exact timing will soon be changing when Daylight Savings wraps up for the year). His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.
Xur Exotic Items
The Huckleberry is Xur’s Exotic this week, a fun submachine gun that eats enemies alive. The fast-firing weapon reloads some of its magazine every time you rack up a kill, which can turn it into a close-range bullet hose if you play correctly. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.
- Exotic Engram — 97 legendary shards
- The Huckleberry — 29 legendary shards
- Raiden Flux — 23 legendary shards
- An Insurmountable Skullfort — 23 legendary shards
- Apotheosis Veil — 23 legendary shards
- Xenology quest — free
- Legendary weapons and armor — 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer
Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.
The Huckleberry (Submachine Gun)
The Huckleberry is tuned to put you in a situation where you can just keep firing. As you hold down the trigger, the gun’s rate of fire increases, while the recoil decreases, allowing you to put lots of bullets into your enemies. The trick is to try to rack up kills as fast as possible, because kills reload The Huckleberry while increasing its damage by triggering Rampage. So if you can cut through lots of enemies quickly, you can turn The Huckleberry into a constant stream of death that won’t run out of bullets–at least for a while.
Raiden Flux (Hunter)
Raiden Flux amps up your Arc Staff Super, making it gain more power the more you attack with it. Rapidly attacking enemies with the Super increases its damage, while also extending its duration. That makes it great in PvE when you’ve got lots of enemies to kill, while also making it useful in PvP scenarios–the more kills you get, the longer your Super lasts.

An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan)
An Insurmountable Skullfort is meant for Titan players who favor Arc melee builds. Every time you nail a kill with your Arc melee abilities, the helmet gives you melee energy back, while also starting your health regeneration. That means that punching your way out of dire situations can keep you alive, and also give you more opportunities to punch your way out of dire situations.

Apotheosis Veil (Warlock)
When you fire up your Super with Apotheosis Veil equipped, you instantly gain a ton of rewards. The helmet restores your health, melee, grenade, and Rift energy, making you tougher to kill and ready to fight as soon as your Super is over. What’s more, nearby allies also gain increases to their class ability recharge rates, so they can be more effective at aiding you during your Super. If you’ve got an Exotic-shaped gap in your loadout, this is a good fallback for both Crucible and PvE activities.
