This week saw Destiny 2 explode with new content, thanks to the release of Bungie’s 30th Anniversary celebration DLC. There are new Exotic quests to get the Gjallarhorn and Forerunner weapons, but if you’re still hurting for new Exotics, you can visit your new favorite game show host Xur for some new guns and armor. Here are all the Exotics and Legendary weapons and armor Xur is sporting this week and where you can find him.

Head to Nessus, to the Watcher’s Grave area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering The Wardcliff Coil rocket launcher. Hunters can pick up the Orpheus Rig leg armor; for Titans, there’s the Citan’s Ramparts gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Skull of Dire Ahamkara helmet.

Now Playing: Destiny 2 Where Is Xur December 10, 2021

Xur’s Exotics are decent, and he has a couple of Legendary weapons you might want to pick up if you need them. His Nature of the Beast hand cannon is all right, thanks to its Quickdraw and Rangefinder perks making it a fast, far-shooting gun, with a Handling Masterwork. Even better, though, is Xur’s Falling Guillotine sword, with an Impact Masterwork, Tireless Blade, and Whirlwind Blade–perks that synergize to enhance the damage the sword does after you land several hits in a row, and return ammo when you use the Falling Guillotine’s powerful heavy attack.

For armor, Xur is offering the Dead Orbit-themed Anti-Extinction set. There’s not much to speak of for Hunters, but Warlocks can grab chest armor and leg armor that are good gets with a stat roll of 63, and Titans can pick up a decent pair of gauntlets at 62.

Xur Location

You'll find Xur in the north of Nessus, in a tree in the Watcher's Grave area.

Find Xur this week on Nessus, in the Watcher’s Grave area. Spawn in at the Watcher’s Grave transmat zone and head north toward the big pink tree at the edge of the area. You’ll have to climb up to find Xur, who’s waiting in the branches above.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic Items

If you don’t have Xur’s Exotic weapon this week, The Wardcliff Coil, you should grab it. A perennial favorite in the Crucible, the launcher is a chaotic death machine that almost always guarantees a kill against other Guardians if you can fire it at them–especially with its Exotic catalyst attached. It’s also just hilarious in PvE. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram – 97 legendary shards
  • The Wardcliff Coil – 29 legendary shards
  • Orpheus Rig – 23 legendary shards
  • Citan’s Ramparts – 23 legendary shards
  • Skull of Dire Ahamkara – 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest – free
  • Legendary weapons and armor – 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer

Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

The Wardcliff Coil (Rocket Launcher)

You barely have to aim with The Wardcliff Coil, which makes it great for scratching off Guardians in the Crucible.
You barely have to aim with The Wardcliff Coil, which makes it great for scratching off Guardians in the Crucible.

It doesn’t have the best range of any rocket launcher, but the strength of The Wardcliff Coil is making sure anything in front of you is absolutely annihilated. Rather than firing a single rocket, the launcher lets loose a volley that tend to fly all over, but if you can catch something in its field of chaotic destruction, it’ll almost definitely die. That makes Wardcliff an excellent heavy weapon for the Crucible, because you’re almost guaranteed to rack up a kill or two if you can manage to find the ammo to fire it.

Orpheus Rig (Hunter)

Orpheus Rig is excellent for using your Super to control crowds.
Orpheus Rig is excellent for using your Super to control crowds.

It’s not as essential as it once was, but Orpheus Rig is still a decent option for Hunters in PvE activities looking to support teammates. The leg armor pairs with your Shadowshot Super, allowing you to fire more Moebius Quiver shots and providing you with ability energy for every enemy you manage to tether with them. It also helps you produce a ton of Orbs of Power for teammates while keeping crowds of enemies under control. Orpheus Rig remains a great addition to Hunter vaults, and this is a decent stat roll for you to add to your collection.

Citan’s Ramparts (Titan)

Your Barricades become really useful with Citan's Ramparts, particularly in tough Crucible matches.
Your Barricades become really useful with Citan’s Ramparts, particularly in tough Crucible matches.

Citan’s Ramparts change the nature of your Titan Barricades in a way that can be very helpful when you’re facing off against tough opponents. Instead of just creating a wall you can use for cover, Ramparts makes your Towering Barricades (the big ones) into one-way portals. You and your teammates can shoot through them, but they will stop the incoming fire of your opponents, giving you free opportunities to land some shots or snipe enemies before they can deal with you. The drawback is that your Barricades are weaker and don’t last as long, so make sure to take advantage of them quickly.

Stay alive long enough to chuck that Nova Bomb–and throw a few more–with Skull of Dire Ahamkara.

One of the more excellent Supers in Destiny 2 is the Nova Bomb, a damn-near unavoidable orb of deadly Void energy. Skull of Dire Ahamkara amps up the Super’s utility by giving you extra protection while you’re throwing it–the moment when you’re most vulnerable, especially in the Crucible. The Exotic also returns Super energy based on how many kills you score, and while that perk has been nerfed so that you max out at 50% Super energy return, it can still be extremely useful when clearing crowds of enemies and dealing damage to bosses.
