Jacob Scipio (“Pieces of Her”) and veteran J.K. Simmons will join Leslie Grace in the upcoming live-action “Batgirl” film for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films.
Simmons is onboard to reprise his role of Commissioner Gordon in the film with his daughter Barbara Gordon (Grace) confirmed to be the character behind the cape in this version.
Scipio’s role is unknown. The actor broke out in “Bad Boys for Life” so his hiring makes sense as that film’s directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are helming “Batgirl”.
The feature will premiere on HBO Max, one of the first major DC properties to debut exclusively on the streamer. Christina Hodson penned the script with Kristin Burr producing.
