Netflix has premiered the first photos from “Army of Thieves,” the prequel to Zack Snyder’s zombie heist feature “Army of the Dead” which premiered the other month.
This looks more like an action heist film and sees the return of the somewhat kooky German safecracker Ludwig Dieter (Matthias Schweighöfer) who is paired with some new crewmates played by Nathalie Emmanuel, Ruby O. Fee, Guz Khan, and Jonathan Cohen.
In the new film, small-town bank teller Dieter gets drawn into the adventure of a lifetime when a mysterious woman recruits him to join a crew of Interpol’s most wanted criminals – attempting to heist a sequence of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe.
Schweighöfer also directs the new film which Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, and Dan Maag produce. The film premieres this Fall and joins an upcoming animated spin-off series also coming to the platform.
