“Gotham” actress Victoria Cartagena will reprise the role of GCPD officer Renee Montoya for the third season of The CW’s “Batwoman” as a new series regular.
Though she’s playing the same character she played in FOX’s “Gotham,” the two show universes are not connected and so it will be a whole new interpretation of the character.
In “Batwoman,” Montoya is a former GCPD officer who left the force when she could no longer stomach the corruption inside the department.
She now runs the ‘freaks division,’ which hasn’t seen a lot of action… until now. Righteous and pragmatic, she has a very personal (and mysterious) mission to help clean the streets of Gotham in the right way, by whatever means necessary.
Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang and Camrus Johnson also star in the next season.
