Adonis Creed just got a new bad guy.
“Lovecraft Country” and “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” breakout Jonathan Majors is in early talks to co-star in the third “Creed” film.
The boxing drama will once again not just star Michael B. Jordan, but this time will also be directed by him as well because Sylvester Stallone is not returning for the new outing though Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad are back.
Though not confirmed at this time, Majors is expected to play Adonis’ main rival in the ring this time following Tony Bellew in the first film and Florian Munteanu in the second.
Keenan Coogler (“Space Jam: A New Legacy”) and Zach Baylin (“King Richard”) penned the script based on a story outline from original co-writer/director Ryan Coogler.
Majors also starred in “Da 5 Bloods,’ “When We Rise,” “Jungle Land” and will soon be seen in the Black western “The Harder They Fall” at Netflix along with portraying Kang The Conqueror in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”.
“Creed III” is currently targeting a November 23rd 2022 release.
