Trailer Neeson Courtney In Honest Thief

Four years ago came word that Liam Neeson was being lined up to play author Raymond Chandler’s iconic detective character Philip Marlowe in a movie penned by “Kingdom Of Heaven” and “The Departed” scribe William Monahan.

The character has been portrayed on screen several times by various actors, most notably by Humphrey Bogart in Howard Hawks’ movie classic “The Big Sleep”.

After languishing for a few years, the new film is now heating up with new producers onboard, Oscar-winner Neil Jordan (“Michael Collins,” “The Crying Game”) is set to direct and an October filming start date locked for Los Angeles and Europe.

Sales on the film will take place at the Cannes virtual market next month. The film will adapt Benjamin Black’s book “The Black-Eyed Blonde” which follows the tough as nails private detective in the early 1950s where he is as restless and lonely as ever.

Things change when a beautiful blonde heiress client comes in and asks Marlowe to find her ex-lover. He soon learns the disappearance is part of a bigger mystery that sees him drawn into the crossfire of a legendary Hollywood actress and her subversive, ambitious daughter.

Alan Moloney, Gary Levinsohn, Mark Fasano, and Billy Hines will produce.
