Steven Spielberg will team with “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer on a limited series adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub’s fantasy epic “The Talisman” for Netflix, Amblin Television and Paramount Television Studios.
The story follows a twelve-year-old boy who goes on a quest for the mystical Talisman which can save his dying mother. But to reach his goal, Jack must make his way not only across the breadth of the United States but also through the wondrous and menacing parallel world of ‘The Territories’.
Spielberg has spent over three decades trying to adapt the work into a film, but now it’s coming to life in event series form with Curtis Gwinn (“The Leftovers,” “Stranger Things,” “Narcos”) set to act as writer and showrunner while King, Spielberg, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, and the Duffers will executive produce.
