Jamie Carragher has admitted that it will be “difficult” for Liverpool to finish in the top four this season.
The 2020/21 campaign has been a wretched one for Liverpool. They have suffered a lot of injuries, as Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have all been ruled out for the rest of the season.
A barren run of form has seen them drop down to seventh in the Premier League after 27 games.

Included in this stretch have been five consecutive defeats at Anfield. These losses have come against Burnley, Brighton, Manchester City, Everton and Chelsea.
Liverpool are currently four points adrift of Thomas Tuchel’s side, who moved into the top four after Thursday’s win at Anfield.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher insisted that Everton and West Ham are both showing “much better form” than Liverpool currently:
“I think it’ll be difficult for Liverpool. I think Chelsea look really impressive when you look at the squad that they have. I think they have a top squad and I think they’ll be difficult to stop.
“Whether Leicester come back to the pack [I’m not sure] but you look at teams like West Ham and Everton, and they’re in much better form than Liverpool right now. Liverpool win the odd game now and again and you think they’re back, but it’s just not happening.”
