Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff could leave the club after joining super agent Pini Zahavi recently, according to a report.

The Englishman has been close to a contract extension in the past, but this was ultimately halted following a serious knee injury.

He is out of contract in 2022 which means interested clubs could pursue a deal next year for a reduced price.

According to the Daily Mail, Longstaff has now partnered up with Zahavi.

The agent is known to fix contract issues and broker transfers. He also works as an agent for the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Alex Telles and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The report states that Longstaff is stalling on a new deal which could entice other clubs in Europe.

Multiple Premier League sides would be interested in signing the 23-year-old.

He broke into the Newcastle first team back in 2018 and his form saw him affectionately linked with a big move to Man Utd.

The Red Devils pursued cheaper alternatives in the end after being quoted at £50 million for Longstaff.

He was also touted for an England call-up which never came.

Longstaff has made ten appearances so far this campaign, indicating that a transfer would not be down to lack of game time.

He’s emerged as an important part of manager Steve Bruce’s plans for the Magpies.

Alongside his younger brother Matty, Longstaff is seen as a great player for the future.

The midfielder’s new agent could be about to broker a transfer away from Newcastle, but it will take a convincing offer to get Longstaff to part with his boyhood club.
