“Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have set up a third show at Netflix under their five-year, $250 million overall deal.
This one will be an adaption of Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “The Overstory” which Hugh Jackman will executive produce along with Bernie Caulfield, Benioff, Weiss and Richard Robbins who penned the script.
The fantasy drama centers on a world alongside ours “that is vast, interconnected, resourceful, magnificently inventive and almost invisible to us. A handful of disparate people learn how to see that world and are drawn into its unfolding catastrophe.”
The project follows on from an adaptation of Alexander Woo’s “The Three-Body Problem” and the Sandra Oh-led dramedy “The Chair” – both of which are in the works.
